As a System Engineer Server, you will work with a crack team whose primary focus is to translate strategic technology initiatives into functional IT solutions. You will leverage your strong knowledge of Microsoft Server technologies, IP networks, enterprise level hardware, security best practices and familiarity with Unix and architecture as part of this team. You will also actively participate in strategic planning sessions such as disaster recovery and business continuity. Your team, being on-call critical support of the highest escalation, is responsible for timely support, analysis, optimization and resolution of all software and hardware related issues, audit remediation and security incident responses. What you'll get to do:
Recommend, install, configure, maintain and troubleshoot enterprise applications (including Internet/Intranet) and operating systems including: servers, infrastructure appliances, storage peripherals, infrastructure cabling, and power.
Maintain system integrity by ensuring regular operating system, disk maintenance and monitoring is routinely performed. Perform the installation and upgrades of all server-based operating systems and application software and utilities.
Test, evaluate and recommend server computer hardware and software requirements for the enterprise and facilitate the purchase of such equipment. Develop guidelines for standard server-based computer configurations for the organization.
Provide on-call critical support 7x24x365. On a rotating schedule, work as the primary off-hour critical support contact
Design, develop, implement and test information system disaster recovery procedures related to Windows Client/Server environments.
Ensure all work is appropriately documented, service standards are met, and the QA process and the System Architecture design is followed
Develop and maintain expertise of information systems technology and keep up-to-date on new products and systems which impact the financial industry and Coast Capital Savings. Be current on trending developments with information technology. Regularly scan new technologies to determine opportunities and fit with Coast Capital.

Who are we looking for?
Minimum 4 - 6 years of related work experience in an enterprise organization, you have a strong working knowledge of core Microsoft technologies including Active Directory, SCCM, Sharepoint, Messaging & Collaboration (Exchange & Lync) and Hyper V. As well as a solid understanding of VMWare ESXi, UNIX, web application servers, IP networking, firewalls and load balancers.
Advanced experience with system application performance monitoring and tuning.
Minimum High School Diploma plus completion of a Diploma Program (two years of formal education or equivalent). The diploma program should include System Engineer and General Business type work and be recognized as a stepping stone for a possible Bachelor of Technology program.
Strong understanding of enterprise systems
Strong hardware skills (Servers, NAS and network devices)
Strong knowledge of datacenter technologies.

Excellent customer service and delivery
Ability to work well within a team
Ability to coach peers
You also have excellent problem solving skills and are a true team-player. As well, you have good technical documentation skills and understand that a utopian vision of an IT world must always be balanced by the needs of the business.
