Axon, the Seattle-based division of Taser that builds and sells police body cameras and related software, is offering Tesla Model 3 cars to new hires, and not just senior executives. Eligible positions include full-stack engineers and web developers.
Thousands of technology roles are unfilled in Washington state at any time. Microsoft posted 500 jobs in one week earlier this year.
As a result, Seattle-area companies are moving beyond regular hiring considerations including salary and benefits.
Amazon, for example, paid off one job candidate’s underwater mortgage in Boston to get him to move to Seattle. Tableau rewards employees with up to $10,000 for referring new hires.
