This is not a telescope I would recommend to people, but if you have it already, it’s what you have and I wouldn’t recommend just throwing it out. That said, simply put, you should be able to see some decent views of Jupiter, Saturn, Mars, and the Moon. You’ll be able to see the phases of Venus. And you should be able to make out all of the Messier objects under reasonably clear dark sky conditions.
I would definitely recommend different eyepieces. A 4mm eyepiece, IMHO, is useless with this telescope - it will just show you very blurry views of everything (because 5″ of aperture simply isn’t enough to get good resolution from). I’d recommend finding a decent 30 or 32mm eyepiece and something in the range of a 12–15mm. A barlow is always useful, and you might want a moon (neutral density) filter as the moon can be VERY bright (painfully so). Good luck and clear skies.
https://www.reddit.com/r/telescopes/com ... werseeker/The 127EQ has two things wrong with it. First, it's on an equatorial mount. On paper this sounds like a good thing, but to do it at this price point it has to be a flimsy wobbly piece of junk, and -- surprise! It is! It's so flimsy and wobbly it's actually counterproductive. You could probably hand-hold the scope and it would be more stable. Compare that to Dobsonian mounts at this price point, which are rock-solid and blissfully simple, although a little less convenient.
But worse, it's not a normal newtonian reflector. It's not mentioned anywhere obvious, but it's actually a much maligned Bird-Jones design, and it's AWFUL. It's nearly impossible to collimate properly and will never be able to produce clear images because the optics are just stupid. It has a built-in 3x barlow lens which is part of the Bird-Jones optical design and can't be removed and that means wide angle viewing is basically impossible.
