Здравстуйте братцы каморчане!

Рекрутеры из хорошей компании попросили резюме. На linkedin есть мой профиль, который я создал на основе старого резюме десителетней давности. Там просто ужасное количество каких-то не удобоваримых технических подробностей (многие из которых, как я подозреваю, просто не актуальны).

Появилась идея - послать им резюме на человеческом языке и со ссылкй на linkedin (где всякие COM-ы и Шмомы с сокетами), на случай, если им захочется посмотреть подробности. Хорошая ли это идея?

Идея сама по себе нормальная. По крайне мере я так и делал.

Что бросилось в глаза:
1. Я давно не пишу секцию Objective, но если бы писал, то упор делал бы не на то, что хотел бы Я, а на то, чем я мог бы помочь ИМ. Да и "To obtain a Software Developer position" звучит так, как будто вы ну совсем не хотите получить хотя бы "Senior" позицию.
2. Я не уверен (точнее, мне резануло глаз) performing "entire software development life cycle". Разве SDLC перформят? Мне кажется, его "понимают", с ним "знакомы", есть "опыт" (и/или "скилс") сопровождения на всех этапах (стадиях) его ... Но может тут я и не прав ...
3. Очень монотонный и однообразный набор глаголов (особенно за последнее время): в основном "developed" и немного "designed"/"implemented". Я бы немного разнообразил ... алгоритм, например, может быть "created". Можно кое-где писать "designed and implemented". Другие глаголы могут подойти: constructed, conducted, contributed, built, delivered, executed ...да их полно.
4. Всюду, где только можно советую писать не только "что сделано", но и "что достигнуто" : написал такую-то программу, И ЭТО ПОЗВОЛИЛО бла-бла-бла. Таким образом будущий работодатель может хоть как-то оценить какой эффект он может получить, наняв вас.

последние 9 лет на одном месте- это плохо, сделайте 6-7 из них,
лишние 3 года раскидайте сюда:(4 years 7 months) и сюда September 2005 (7 months)
Designed, Developed- убрать, просто напишите проекты и задачи, которые вы там решали:

...... все короткими предложениями, без витиеватого объяснения: Implemented a ‘robotic tester’ running on top of Android devices and communicating with the enterprise web services to validate that the devices behavior according to the enterprise MDM policies. - так не надо
образование в конце не забудьте, добавьте 8-10 лет к году окончания( закончили в 87, пишите 95.)

Спасибо. Хорошие советы. Я старался учесть ваши замечания. На самом деле, как кажется, получается гораздо лучше. Взгляните ещё разок, пожалуйста. Я полностью убрал не канадский опыт. Постарался сделать предложения короче. Добавил все как есть про достижения (хотя с моим магаданским акцентом все это возможно не очень хорошо выглядит ).

Мне понравился видеоролик. Больше всего понравилось то, что человек захотел помочь другим. Я помню как это было болезненно в моем случае, и как нужна была помощь ньюкамеру. Молодец!

чем больше key words в Technical Summary, тем больше шанс, что вас заметят.

да, может лучше торонто кое где написать чем Mississauga? все таки "торонто- это голова"

у меня была типичная ситуация в 15 годе. Тухлое и старое резуме. Я не стал заморачиваться и отправил профи. Там вроде в Торонте у вас работает. Мне вылизали и прислали. Деньги не большие тем более для програмиста. Результат - три важных секции.
Последние лет пять опыта. Достижения. Проекты. Опшинал - Работа в команде и лидерство если есть.
Остальное в фтопку. Один лист. Макс два. Рекрутеры все равно его потом до одного укоротили. Вот как то так. IMHO

Немного добавил технических деталей

Я, конечно, дико извиняюсь, но с точки зрения банальной эрудиции, ваше резюме кажется абсолютно противоречивым.
В том смысле, что я бы просто сразу выкидывал такие резюме
Вы пишете о 15 плюс годах экспириенса, но по тексту я насчитал (с 1987) более 30...
Вы пишите про АвтоКАД - но никаких упоминаний в Technical Summary.
Вы пишите про мультикаст на TCP - у простых людей это сразу вызывает недоверие - как минимум требуются дополнительные пояснения.
ОК, какой-то безумный клиент решил заказать персональный лоад балансер, поддерживающий стики сессии вместо того, чтобы просто купить один из на маркете. Но зачем в резюме вдаваться в детали? Тем более, что стики сессии, по идее, предназначены совсем для другого!
Уверяю вас, подавляющее большинство читателей не знают, что такое МДМ и зачем оно нада - расшифруйте аббревиатуру - будет звучать гордо.
То бишь - слишком много тех.подробностей в экспириенсе, и слишком мало - в Technical Summary.

Есть ощущение, что резюме становится лучше. На своем опыте знаю, что советы старых кадров каморки помогают но 100%. Вряд ли бы рекрутеры так помогли. Хотя ...

1) Хорошее замечание про семантику. Разбил на два пунтка.
2) Правильно подсказали Agile. Добавил.
3) Изменил Ontario->ON, и добавил Торонто в одну из работ (там у меня была копи/паст ошибка)


Убрал весь старый опыт. Оставил только канадский опыт с 2005 года. Мультикаст - это хотя и не про TCP, конечно, особенно в моём случае, но в общем случае групповое вещание может быть разным, том числе на уровне проложений. В части sticky сессий которые я отметил в резюме - балансер необходим между унитами масштабитования (unit of scale nodes). Т.е это не обязательно тривиальный случай, когда веб браузер запрашивает страничку в интернете. Но Ваша точка зрения понятна и полезна. Спасибо. Я убрал эти детали, которые могут вызвать недоумение. Убрал AutoCAD. Хорошие замечания.
