Hello everybody,
We are looking for NON UNION people who would be willing to volunteer for a short film is that is going to be shooting in North Vancouver February 22nd-February 26th.
We are putting word out to see who is interested for both Principal and Background work.
This work WILL be unpaid though the casting director is going to be busy this year and has promised to make up for it with some work on her other shows.
They are primarily looking for girls 11-13 years old and only a few adults so please reply if you are interested or know somebody who is interested..

The Mary Contest –updated Jan. 24th 2012
Mary (11-12) is an Irish girl, (a new immigrant). She desperately wants to be good, but she has a nasty temper. The actress can be up to 13 if she is small. Caucasian any hair color. She will curse by either saying the soft Irish version of the F word, "Feck" or another soft curse word.
Tammy (11-12) is a tough girl, with lots of attitude. She softens at the end. The actress can be up to 13 if she is small. Mary and her start as enemies and then end up as friends.
Sr. Adelia (30’s) is a kind, fun loving, modern nun. Any ethnicity.
Joan (30’s) is Mary’s thin, hardworking Irish mother. Needs to match Mary our main Character.
William (5-6) is Mary’s mischievous, but sweet, younger Irish brother. It’s not necessary that he speak in an accent as he only says one word. The rest of the time he is acting in a few key scenes. He gets a toy car to the head so he will have to react to that.
Eileen (40’s) is Joan’s kind, robust, Irish sister. She has one line of dialogue, and like William’s part, does not need to have an existing Irish accent.
Mrs. Fitzpatrick (50’s) is a pious, rigid woman. She teaches The Legion of Mary. Intimidating woman.
Friend #1 (11-12 years) and Friend #2 (11-12 years) are classmates who make fun of Mary on the school steps. Both girls, with a bit of an edge.

6 Legion of Mary girls – (all 11-12) NORA, CLARICE, SARAH, DARLENE, SONIA, and JENILLE. The Legion of Mary is a catholic prayer group the girls attend with Mary and Tammy. Perhaps we can offer the girls who didn’t get the part of Mary, Tammy or the friends one of these parts. Each of these girls will say one line.
Older Nun (60’s) is a warm, senior nun with a small speaking part.
Buffet Nun (40-50) is a portly, cheerful nun, who serves up food at the convent cafeteria.
Classmates - 8 boys and 2 girls (11-12) (for the classroom and convent scenes.
