very good advice. I saw a lot of people seling almost new bike because they bought such powerfull new bikes, they were scared themselves to ride!amk писал(а): Совет, если до этого не ездил, наплюй на понты, и заведи какую нибудь старую трахому кубов до 500 из класса стандартных или полуспортивных. I was already confident in my riding skills, but it was unavoidable when travelling the busy roads of the lower mainland, that some (car/truck/suv) drivers didn't see me because of their own poor skills or bad habits, and some were outwardly aggressive, sometimes to a dangerous degree! I feel that what I was able to put into practice within a very short time were some techniques that I may have eventually picked up over the years, or learned from speaking to more experienced riders; things that have already saved me from ending up ON the road, such as how to scan ahead for potential hazards, predicting drivers behaviour, emergency manouvers, and more. Of course these are only words, and you might say, "I know how to do that because I drive a car". Then why not at least spend a couple hours with an instructor or take a more advanced course, like the 2nd level: traffic skills. There are other options besides starting at the first level, or even taking a whole course. Knowledge is Power. You don't know what you don't know, until you know it. I can spot a professionally trained rider as opposed to self-taught or friend-taught one from "a mile away". I just want everyone to play nice and be safe. Good Luck Andy!andy_1100 писал(а):OK, I understand that riding courses give you more confidence. No questions here. But it depends, what's your starting point and how comfortable you are on the road, can you keep a cool head…
So what kind of skills do they teach? I want to hear specifics and decide if I really need to pay to get these skills. What did you learn from the course that you didn't know before?
