Three individuals who died at home in February and March were positive for SARS-CoV-2

Santa Clara County, CA – The County of Santa Clara Medical Examiner-Coroner has identified three individuals who died with COVID-19 in Santa Clara County before the COVID-19 associated death on March 9, 2020, originally thought to be the first death associated with COVID-19 in the county.

The Medical Examiner-Coroner performed autopsies on two individuals who died at home on February 6, 2020 and February 17, 2020. Samples from the two individuals were sent to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. Today, the Medical Examiner-Coroner received confirmation from the CDC that tissue samples from both cases are positive for SARS-CoV-2 (the virus that causes COVID-19).

PI Introduction:

Zhou Peng, Ph.D., is a researcher at the Wuhan Institute of Virology, Chinese Academy of Sciences, and the team leader of bat virus infection and immunity In 2010 , he obtained a Ph.D. from the Wuhan Institute of Virology, and later worked on bat virus and immunology research in Australia and Singapore. In 2009 , it was the first in the world to start the research on the immune mechanism of long-term bat carrying and spreading viruses. So far, it has published more than 30 SCI articles, including the first and corresponding authors of Nature , Cell Host Microbe and PNAS . At present, bat virus and immunology research continues to be carried out, and has received support from the National "Youqing" fund, the Chinese Academy of Sciences pilot project, and the Ministry of Science and Technology major project.



The main research directions of the research group:

Taking bat as the research object, answer the molecular mechanism that can coexist with Ebola and SARS- related coronavirus for a long time without disease, and its relationship with flight and longevity. Проверить довольно легко -- сравнить уже опубликованные распределения умерших от к-вируса по возрастам и полу с аналогичными распределениями смертности от всех причин, скажем, в 2019 году. Это далеко не rocket science.

Они это сейчас называют visionary - thinking about or planning the future with imagination or wisdom.
Очень модное направление деятельности.
Основывается на том, что если ввалить в дурость несколько кубометров денег, то специалисты ее трансформируют в условно работающий прототип. Потом надо как следует хайпнуть, и собрать еще несколько кубометров денег под дальнейшее развитие идеи. К тому времени все забудут про оригинальный рецепт, а прототип трансформируется в нечто более-менее реальное.
Ну и так несколько раз. Даже если идея мертворожденная, то от нескольких десятков кубометров собранного бабла можно нехило отщипнуть в процессе. А что там дальше с этим глюкалом будет никому в общем и не интересно. Первоначальную цель легко заменит движуха вокруг очередных порций бабла. Процесс перейдет в режим автогенерации и полностью отделится от материальной составляющей. (см Тесла)
