неделю назад ехал мимо Оакридж молла, зашел там в банк. Что сказать, одни китайцы вокруг, и за стойками, и посетители, осталось впечатление что район буквально за 5 лет полностью превратился в Китай. про масшаб цен на дома в тех местах я в курсе...

Это естественно. "Любовь зла, полюбишь и козла". Если такие цены на дома, то приходится идти на компромисс. Кто-то ищет компромисс в другом районе(Мапл ридж например), а кто спускается с мечты о доме на грешную землю и берёт таунхаус.

Canadian banks helping clients bend rules to move money out of China.

Some Canadian banks allow wealthy Asian investors to skirt Chinese law by helping them bring in large amounts of money that is often used to buy real estate in Vancouver.
Financial institutions in the area have flagged more than 8,200 suspicious transactions since January, 2012, the year China began cracking down on citizens they suspect of corruption.

OTTAWA (Reuters) - The Bank of Canada kept its key interest rate at 0.5 percent on Wednesday, declaring its previous two rate cuts were still stimulating an economy that is benefiting from solid household spending and a firm U.S. recovery.
It posted the important caveat that increasing uncertainty about growth prospects in China and other emerging markets were raising questions about the pace of global recovery.
The bank added that Canada's resource sector continued "to adjust to lower prices for oil and other commodities, with some spillover to the rest of the economy" - adjustments it said were complex and would take considerable time.
However, weakness in the Canadian dollar is helping absorb some of the impact of lower commodity prices and facilitating economic adjustments, it noted. "While the overall export picture is still uncertain, the latest data confirm that exchange rate-sensitive exports are regaining momentum," it said.
It made no direct reference to Canada's hot housing market or to the high levels of household debt, saying only that "risks to financial stability are evolving as expected." In July the bank had said vulnerabilities associated with household imbalances remained elevated and could edge higher.
The central bank had cut its target for the overnight rate by one-quarter percentage point in January and again in July because of the sharp oil price drop, which was causing serious reductions in business investment, especially in the oil patch.
"The stimulative effects of previous monetary policy actions are working their way through the Canadian economy," it stated on Wednesday.
The market had expected the bank to stay on hold, particularly after Statistics Canada had reported substantial economic growth in June ending five months of contractions, as well as solid job growth and two months of strong trade data.
The bank said the dynamics of economic growth outlined in July remained intact. It said core inflation has been close to the 2 percent target, with disinflationary pressures from economic slack being offset by transitory effects of past currency weakening and some sector-specific factors.
Summarizing its analysis, the central bank said: "Taking all of these developments into consideration, the Bank judges that the risks to the outlook for inflation remain within the zone for which the current stance of monetary policy is appropriate."

Canadian new-home prices rise in July, pushed up by Toronto
OTTAWA (Reuters) - New-home prices in Canada rose in July, driven by gains in Toronto's robust housing market, data from Statistics Canada showed on Thursday.
The new housing price index rose by 0.1 percent, slightly short of analysts' forecasts for a gain of 0.2 percent. Compared with the year before, prices were up 1.3 percent.
The Toronto and Oshawa region led the gain, rising 0.3 percent on the month, with builders citing market conditions and higher labor costs.
Prices in Vancouver, another hot market, also increased by 0.3 percent. But Calgary, which is sensitive to Canada's weakened energy sector, was among the biggest decliners, down 0.3 percent.
The new housing price index excludes apartments and condominiums, which economists are watching closely and account for one-third of new housing.

Chinese purchases of Australian property have dropped significantly in the past month, according to agents, as buyers struggle to shift money out of the country following Beijing’s move to tighten capital controls.

One Chinese agent said the latest efforts by the central government to avoid large capital outflows were having a “significant impact” on his business. “It has affected 70 to 80 per cent of current transactions and some have already been suspended,” said the agent who asked not to be named.

Я ее видел собственными глазами. Однако, через несколько часов заголовок и часть содержания таинственным образом поменялись на:

это что же получается, китайско-ванкуверские архитекторы на деньги метрованкувер (наши деньги) сваяли отчет для своих гонгонгских партнеров, что не все еще потеряно, есть еще "дома" меньше миллиона, и много! :)

Почему то вас не учитывают, только сити оф НВ, а в сити не так уж и много сингл домов
