The Vancouver Fireworks Festival Society says they are unable to raise the money needed to produce the annual fireworks competition over English Bay. After 18 years, they say the festival has come to an end.

HSBC Celebration of Light Fireworks Back On!

In a news release issued today the Vancouver Fireworks Festival Society announced that “Thanks to the continuing commitment of the City of Vancouver, long-term sponsors and the generous support of new firework’s partners, the lights will light up the sky over English Bay again this summer.”

HSBC Bank Canada has been a proud sponsor of the HSBC Celebration of Light for the past eight years and will again be supporting the HSBC Celebration of Light at the title sponsorship level for 2009.

We are thrilled that the Fireworks Society was able to find the necessary additional funding to allow this event to continue. Over the past eight years the HSBC Celebration of Light has been one of our major sponsorships in the Vancouver area and is enjoyed by clients, employees and the community at large.
