Information for Foreign Visitors Entering the United States (The US-VISIT Program)

About US-VISIT

US-VISIT is an enhanced border inspection program implemented by the US Department of Homeland Security. US-VISIT requirements do not replace visa requirements for entering the United States.

The US-VISIT Process

Foreign visitors who are carrying a foreign passport and/or those visitors who are required to complete a form I-94 will be enrolled in the US-VISIT program at Amtrak border crossings. (Most Canadian Citizens and, initially, Mexican Citizens who use their border crossing cards or "laser visas," are excepted from the program.)

For first-time visitors to the US, a Customs and Border Protection Officer uses an inkless, digital fingerscanner to perform a ten-finger fingerscan. Subsequent entries and exits by the same person at air, sea and land border ports will require two-finger scans for verification.

US Customs and Border Protection Officers will take a digital picture of the visitor, review travel documents and ask questions about the visitor's stay in the United States. This process should take less than five minutes per passenger.

US-VISIT Fee

Border agents will collect a fee of $6.00 from each visitor. Foreign visitors must come to the border prepared to pay this fee. The fee is payable in US currency, a US postal money order, a personal check drawn on a US bank, a Canadian money order issued in US funds or a US dollar travelers cheque only.

Касается видимо тех, у кого ПР карты. Все что написано было у меня при пересечении границы. Только я не знал что цена на самом деле 6 долларов, мне сказали что у них скидка в тот день была.

P.S. забыл добавить - полный обыск машины тоже был.

Да, у меня сняли отпечаток большого пальца в консульстве на границе всю патерню. Записали адрес того к кому направляюсь и срок прибывания. $6 US заплатил за процедуру. 10 минут..... ну или около того. С кан. паспортом уже не делали этого. А зачем? Я же уже "зафиксирован".

В кратце: могут изять на неопределенный срок (5 и более дней) любой носитель информации. Будь то телефон, компютер, CD/DVD, USB-Drive и т.п. То есть пересекая границу вы полностю попадаете в разряд индивидУУмов, к кому могут залезть в душу и поковыряться в нижнем белье. Почитать вашу личную переписку, скопировать себе ваши фото и видео и даже то что запаролированно имеют право отправить на дешифровку. Т.е. и нелегальный софт, наверное, станет предметом подозрения в шпионской деятельности. Или скажем фото голого ребенка может вызвать подозрение в пропаганде детского порно. Может я утрирую, но все же с собой любые медиа возить не буду и вам не рекомендую.

Я поняла, что это касается только заполнения form I-94

Canadians who are subject to the US-VISIT program include:

•Citizens of Canada applying for admission with a non-immigrant visa such as Canadian citizens with K visas (fiancés) and E visas (treaty trade investors).
•Canadian permanent residents. Under U.S. regulations, Canadian permanent residents are identified by their citizenship (i.e., the nationality of the passport that they carry), not by the fact that they may be permanently residing in another country such as Canada.
•Canadians with dual nationality who present a non-Canadian passport when seeking to enter the United States.

Others who are subject to the US-VISIT process include:

•Current Canadian permanent residents who are participants in NEXUS (Canadian Border Dedicated Commuter Lane) and/or FAST (Free and Secure Trade) who may be required to enroll in US-VISIT when they renew their multiple entry Form I-94s.
•Visitors renewing their multiple-entry Form I-94. All current, valid Form I-94 remain in effect. US-VISIT biometric collection requirements will be either at the time of the next issuance of the Form I-94 or at the discretion of the Customs and Border Protection Officer.
