A union official is facing criminal charges after allegedly threatening MLA Jenny Kwan, her husband and their children, according to court documents.

Ms. Kwan has faced criticism from some British Columbia New Democratic Party members as a result of the prominent role she played in former party leader Carole James’s forced resignation late last year.

Kim Pollock, a United Steelworkers researcher representative and longtime party supporter, has been charged with mischief and with uttering threats to cause death or bodily harm.

According to court documents, Mr. Pollock is accused of throwing feces on the Kwan family’s roof.
