Сегодня впервые услышал по радио про Joseph Kony. Говорили про этот короткий док. фильм


KONY 2012 is a film and campaign by Invisible Children that aims to make Joseph Kony famous, not to celebrate him, but to raise support for his arrest and set a precedent for international justice.




Joseph Kony (born c. 1961) is a Ugandan guerrilla group leader, head of the Lord's Resistance Army (LRA), a group engaged in a violent campaign to establish theocratic government based on the Ten Commandments throughout Uganda.[2] The LRA is a militant group with a syncretic Christian extreme religious ideology. They are known for the extreme atrocities they commit against civilians, including murder, mutilations, rape, and in some accounts even cannibalism.[6].

Directed by Kony, the LRA has earned a reputation for its actions against the people of several countries, including northern Uganda, the Democratic Republic of Congo, South Sudan, and Sudan. It has abducted and forced an estimated 66,000 children to fight for them, and has forced the internal displacement of over 2,000,000 people since its rebellion began in 1986.

А я по названию темы решил, что собака Путина тоже победила на каких-то выборах...

Как-то в голове не укладывается, что такое происходит в 21 веке. Была бы нефть в Уганде, уже НАТО наверное разбомбило бы
все на хр.н, включая этого террориста. Наверное, современные военные технологии могли бы позволить замочить в сортире Кони, избежав каких либо значительных затрат или человеч. жертв. Почему бы России или Китаю не взять на себя эту миссию для позитивного имиджа?
Могли бы сказать - вот смотрите - чисто гуманитарная миссия. Никакой подоплеки

посмотрел в википедии. Она ещё жива, оказывается. Жизнь собаки иногда бывает не так длинна как карьера некоторых политиков.

Без нефти за пределами Европы с юрисдикцией напряг...
Забавно в этом плане вспомнить Югославию, там жертв было на несколько порядков меньше, а война была по полной программе...

Гыыы, вмешаться означает Югославия, Афганистан, Ирак, Ливия... а тренируют они много кого, они даже грузинскую армию тренировали, когда Россия с ней воевала...

The State Department’s chief Africa diplomat said Wednesday U.S. troops sent to Uganda to help local forces fight the Lord’s Resistance Army rebel group will not engage in combat operations themselves. Assistant Secretary of State Johnnie Carson says the marauding LRA has been degraded but remains a serious threat to Uganda and three neighbors in Central Africa.

Carson says President Obama’s decision in October to deploy about 100 special forces troops to try to help crush the marauding LRA has spawned “conspiracy theories” about U.S. intentions.

But the assistant secretary of state says the U.S. interest is humanitarian, to help end once-and-for all a 25-year campaign of abduction and mayhem by the LRA led by its messianic founder Joseph Kony.

At a policy seminar at the U.S. Institute of Peace in Washington, Carson said the troops now beginning to deploy in LRA stronghold areas, are there as advisers to help forces of the four affected countries develop the military skills to end the long-running conflict.

This is all-important: we’ve not there simply to demonstrate goodwill," said Carson. "We’re there to help achieve an objective. And that objective is to end the scourge and violence of the LRA and to help bring Joseph Kony to justice.” US: No Combat Role for Troops in Uganda
