I-5 Closed in Washington State Due To Skagit River Bridge Collapse

I-5 closed in both directions, due to the collapse of the north end of the Skagit River Bridge between Burlington and Mount Vernon. Heavy traffic back-ups in both directions.

The collapse has halted traffic in both direction on I-5, and southbound traffic was reportedly backed up as far as the Canadian border at Blaine. In Mount Vernon, southbound traffic was being diverted to SR 20 while northbound traffic was being diverted to the East College Way Exit. Drivers are advised to avoid the area altogether.

In the first week after the tolls came into effect in December, Surrey recorded a 28.4 per cent increase in trucks on the Pattullo, which was equal to about 640 trucks based on peak volume of 5,358 vehicles during the evening rush hour.
Between 10,000 and 15,000 trucks use the bridge daily

а не тот ли ето был Alberta тракер, которий возил oversized електрические будки из однои канады в другую через роднои штат, имел пермит, но вэхал в опору моста и тем его и сокрушил

The permit was for 15 feet, 9 inches. This bridge, at its lowest point, the clearance is 14 feet, 6 inches. The bridge clearance, at its lowest point, that’s on the outside of the bridge near the shoulder - and as I mentioned it’s an elliptical bridge so you have more clearance towards the middle of the bridge – those clearances, those heights, are not posted on the bridge, and so it is the responsibility of the operator, solely to determine if they can clear through all of the structures on their route

The 41-year-old driver said he had met the driver of the pilot car at the Canadian border and made arrangements with her to notify him of any problems via radio communication. He said he followed the pilot car and both were in the right lane as they crossed the bridge.

Officials are looking for a temporary, pre-fabricated bridge to replace the 160-foot section that failed. If one is found, it could be in place in weeks. If not, it could be months before a replacement can be built.

Так просто..
В америке рухнувший мост починили за месяц.. За 4-5 месяцев вааще перестроят.
В Какнаде маленький переезд через хайвей делают по году..

Позавчера проезжал все еще по соседнему мосту.
