Ninilchik Russian has been spoken continuously in the village of Ninilchik, Alaska, since its founding in 1847. Today there are only a few speakers of this dialect left. We celebrate their lives and the unique language heritage they have maintained. We are in the process of completing a dictionary of the Ninilchik Russian dialect. When it is ready, it will be included on this website and it may also be purchased as a book.
Ninilchik is located on the west coast of the Kenai Peninsula. It is 100 air miles southwest of Anchorage, Alaska.
