In our efforts to efforts to ensure that everybody is safe travelling from their house to work and vice versa, we would like to share the following information in regards to protests happening from Oct 16 to Oct 29.
Climate Change activists plan to hold multiple protests throughout Vancouver between Oct 16-29, with the potential to severely disrupt traffic patterns and create delays from 12:00pm onwards on these dates, especially for road-based modes of transport including private vehicles and/or busses.
With this in mind, we encourage all staff to be aware of the potential for delays in transiting to/from work and to proactively plan their daily trips during this time period to ensure they are able to reach work on time.
For those who rely on public transport options, we recommend monitoring https://www.translink.ca/alerts for current status updates and transit planning support; for those who rely on private/shared vehicle options, we recommend monitoring resources such as City News 1130’s traffic site . Please consider the SkyTrain as a reliable option for transit to/from the Downtown Vancouver core in the event of road-based blockages.

16:30 Oct. 18 and 19: March from Nelson Park to the intersection of Granville and West Georgia streets.

Chief Supt. Warren Brown, commander of the north district RCMP, has called the attack a “calculated and organized violent attack that left its victims shaken and a multimillion-dollar path of destruction.”
Coastal GasLink said in a statement the vandals, some with axes, surrounded its workers in a “highly planned” and “unprovoked” attack at its Morice River work site off a forest service road in the Houston area.
The three videos released Tuesday show people in similar hooded white outfits walking up to a vehicle carrying axes, hitting a pickup truck with an axe as it backs up then drives forward, and swinging axes, spray painting and setting off flares.
Anyone with information about those seen in the videos or the incident is asked to call Houston RCMP at 250-845-2204.
