the reason why we sent this message is the idea of around-world trip on
sailing boat without great experience in sailing.
We are few enthusiasts who want to show and one more time to prove that
Oceans can be crossed not only by professionals but also by very common
"land" people who have no great experience in sailing and long-distance
trips.
Unfortunately due to economical situation in Ukraine the income money are
too small for such enterprise and it will take years and years to make this
plan real.
That's why after long discussions we decided to ask people around the world
to support us by any amount they can. Will it be 1 cent or 1000 USD - we
will be grateful to everyone who will support us.
We can't promise any profit back because it will be non-commercial action.
But we will put the name of each person or company on sails and sides of the
boat and people in many countries will see that this project is supported by
you or your company.
Moreover all of the names will be shown on the web-site of this project
which will be duly updated so you can follow the yacht during her trip.
After completion of the voyage we plan to publish a book about it and, of
course, everyone who supported us will get one for your library.
All of the money will be spent for building and rigging a new yacht or
re-building second-hand one, port expenses during port calls, repairing,
etc.
By this enterprise we are going to prove that Ocean belongs not only to
professional yachtsmen and seamen but also for usual people and even very
simple persons or family can see the Ocean, feel its breezing, power and
great force.

вот если бы я организовал какой-нибудь фонд имени себя для помощи детям и взывал к милосердию, а деньги тратил бы на себя - вот это и был бы то, о чем Вы говорите.
Вряд ли менеджеры из Rolex считают, что их разводят, выделяя средства для подготовки яхтенных экипажей. Или или табачные компании приподдержке гонщиков. Аналогия грубая, конечно, но верная.
