Testing and Field Service Technician/Engineer
Working within the Systems Integration Team, you will be responsible for many aspects of systems, component and product commissioning and testing. Duties will include conducting development and assembly line tests, managing and interpreting data and presenting reports. You will be required to work closely with design engineers and shop resources to design and build test infrastructure including both hardware and software and test plans. As XXX continues commercialization of its products, you will also support products and field service personnel in the field on an as needed basis at select locations in the US and Canada. Duties will include data monitoring, collection and analysis as well as performing troubleshooting and maintenance functions in the field. You will be responsible for field data management and liaising with design engineers to improve future product designs. You will be required to be extremely competent in working with complex electro-mechanical systems and will be required to be available for periodic travel. This position calls for a highly motivated and enthusiastic individual competent with mechanical, electrical and software systems and has a good understanding of disciplined testing and data management processes.
You will be further required to represent the organization as appropriate in its relationship with major customers, strategic partners, suppliers, competitors, commercial and investment bankers, government agencies, professional societies and similar groups.
Other responsibilities and duties that may be determined by XXX from time to time, such other responsibilities and duties shall be consistent with the position discussed above.
Experience and Skills Required
• Electrical or Mechanical Technologist Diploma or Engineering Degree
• 2- 5 years experience in testing or component/product design.
• Exceptional skills with complex electro-mechanical systems and components.
• General knowledge of, and experience with shop tools, instrumentation and test equipment
• Proficiency in Word & Excel and data analysis software.
• Exceptional data analysis and presentation skills.
• Experience with electrical diagnostic instruments.
• Good knowledge of testing processes and discipline.
• Highly organized.
• Good hands on skills and electrical / mechanical competency.
• Ability to travel.
• Good customer relations skills and a professional attitude.
• Enthusiastic and motivated.
• Experience with embedded systems and C programming is an asset.
• Knowledge of / experience with fuel cell and hybrid systems is an asset.
• Understanding of DAQ systems and proficiency in LabVIEW programming is an asset
