With offices around the world, Transoft Solutions is an international leader in the development of innovative software for the transportation engineering design sector. We currently have an opening for a Civil Engineering Technologist at our head office in Richmond, BC.



ABOUT THE ROLE

Working with other members of the Product Management team, the Civil Engineering Technologistprovides input and expertise to support the research and development of innovative design software for civil and transportation engineers, designers and planners. The Civil Engineering Technologist also supports our client-base with training and demonstrations with the application of software.

Key Responsibilities

Perform technical research tasks including reviewing of guidelines, research papers, and journals as directed by supervisor

Prepare and develop AutoCAD/Microstation drawings and product training material.

Liaise with users prior, during and after product launch, including alpha and beta test phases

Provide product training and demonstration to both internal and external clients both onsite and through webcasts.

Offer input during development phases, working closely with Development and QA teams to enhance software function, interface, and usability

Assist with prototype testing as proxy to users and document feedback

Assist with field research tasks including data collection and analysis from field tests

Generate documentation in the form of technical issue notes, technical tips and best practices.

Prepare vision statements, use cases, technical specifications and requirements documentation for use by Software Development

As directed, offer input to Product Support Services (PSS) for clients requiring technical assistance

Assist with technical writing and vetting of user documentation and marketing collaterals

Assist with business case writing including carrying out competitive analysis required for new products

Qualifications

Diploma in Civil Engineering Technology, Certified Engineering Technologist (CET) designation or equivalent

Proficient with AutoCAD, Civil3D (Microstation is preferred)

2-5 years of experience in road design, site/land development

Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written

Ability to work in a collaborative environment
Detail-oriented, goal-oriented, and well organized
Ability to successfully work under tight deadlines
