Join us for an evening of presentations and displays on innovative travel ideas to make your next Italian travel experience diverse and unforgettable! The evening will feature presentations by Nancy Crawford with Creative Expeditions in Tuscany, Luisa Canuto with study excursions to the Verona area and featuring opera, wine tasting and language study, Margaret Cowan presenting Italian Cooking excursions and Adventures Abroad with hiking and walking tours.

Tickets cost only $28.00 which will entitle you to a full dinner including roasted chicken, salad, Italian pastries and of course, UNLIMITED PASTA! (3 bottles of wine per table of 12 included).

TOSCA - THE ULTIMATE DIVA - FREE OPERA SEMINAR by Diane King
In this evening presentation we'll take a close look at Puccini's masterpiece, Tosca: an opera that has challenged some of the greatest voices in history. With background on the life of Puccini, we'll look at where Tosca fits in his body of work, what the musical characteristics are, and meet the major characters. We'll examine some unforgettable recordings, past and present: Who was the ultimate Tosca….Tebaldi or Callas? The most sinister Scarpia…..London or Gobbi? The most heroic tenor…. Domingo or Corelli? A stimulating evening; sure to enhance your opera going experience as Vancouver Opera presents their production of Tosca.

DIANE KING is a Vancouver born performer and teacher. She holds a Bachelor of Music degree from UBC and a Certificate in Advanced Studies in Singing from the prestigious Guildhall School of Music in London, England. Diane has lived and performed in Toronto, London and Rome and her career as a singer has encompassed opera, oratorio, musical theatre and recital. She is a member of the Vancouver Opera chorus and serves as Vancouver Opera's Adult Education Coordinator. She teaches Voice and Speech, teaches regularly for UBC Continuing Studies, and is well known across the Lower Mainland as an opera lecturer.
