Pre-Sales SE (System Engineer) (Vancouver, Canada)

Provide technical consulting services working in conjunction with the sales staff by providing advise, writing reports, RFP’s, etc, joining in on sales calls. The objective of the role is to increase the value and profitability of sales.

Responsibilities:

· Engineer and architect new solutions
· Identify opportunities with existing customers
· Review already proposed solutions for accuracy and optimum performance
· Research, validate and test possible new products
· Evaluate risk and document preventative measures
· Build and promote customer relationships
· Maintain and acquire product certifications
· Brainstorm RFP’s and proposals and deriving alternative customer solutions
· Write reports and documents
· Prepare SOW’s (Statements of Work)

Skills and Experience required:

10-20 years working with various technologies including networking, SAN, NAS, CAS, iSCSI, backup technologies and DR.
Large Data centre experience
Independent or VAR experience to understand diversity
Business and technical risk analysis including regulatory compliance
Data Management Requirements Analysis
High-availability solution design expertise


Soft Skills:

· Excellent communicator including white board skills
· Writing skills
· Humble and open minded always willing to learn more
· Able to command respect from other highly technical people quickly
· Sales skills

Technical Skills:
· Unix: Solaris, AIX or hpUX
· Clustering
· Veritas file system
· Veritas Net Backup and foundation suite on Unix Sun, EMC, Netapp, IBM and hardware ands software data centre experience



Compensation Highlights

· $100K-140K base salary in Year 1.
· $20K-40K in incentives (additional and dependant on performance)
