Well, it's just an example of another extreme. An only animal that doesn't get blood clotting from being inactive/immobile is the bear. All others including humans may have quite many health problems due to the long hours of inactivity.Алексей K-K писал(а):Самое смешное что к длительному сидению человеческое тело не приспособлено и не какого удовольствия от этого не испытывает.
One fact - Europeans are healthier than North Americans. Studies were done and they show that an average european citizen is more active. It is not because they run a lot or spend many hours doing weights. The reason is they walk a lot. Why? Infrastructure is built for pedestrians and cyclists (connections between parks by tunnels and sidewalks, some roads are accessible only for the pedestrians). Walking is a much better activity for us.
Re. running. When you run short distances you train yourself for heavy duty strength, if you run long distances you train for endurance. You need endurance - go ahead, but what do you need it for? You use absolutely different muscle groups daily those that are less innervated by blood vessels and use different fuel. They are bulkier and responsible for lifting, pulling, catching etc. When you train for endurance you do cardio for quite a long period of time. By the way as you age you need less cardio. Why? While doing long hours of cardio you depleet your body from minerals, which may lead to serious health issues. Runners whom I knew (long distance) quite often get the flu between seasons - that shows how weak they may get (immune system is down), some of them are even depressed a bit and quite many of them develop hair loss by the age of 45 - 50.
