ну да, ну да... ввели транзит полицию (60 миллионов в год) для безопасности и ловли "зайцев" (7,5 миллионов в год убытков). потом решили компасс с турникетами забацать для борьбы с "зайцами" (7,5 миллионов убытков) за 107 миллионов долларов. полицию не тронули, только расширили. в результате компасс обошелся в 400 миллионов в задержкой в 4 года, что ли. работы выполняла американская компания-проходимцы (их в штатах за еще четыре проекта похожих судят) с американскими же субподрядчиками, т.е. для экономики БК польза - 0.

Если чуток задуматься, для евергрин лайн, когда строили линию в ричмонд, не хватало 400 миллионов тогда, потому отложили, так говорили.

ну и транслинковцы не мелочаться, миллионные зарплаты себе установили за тяжкую работу.

вопрос, почему никто не сидит по тюрьмам, наверное, реторический. на их месте любой поступил бы так же ))) ну, капитализм же, каждый зарабатывает как может но виновата ндп ))

че-то мне казалось что 400 лимонов компасс стоил, оказывается меньше, но там $20 лимонов в год - оперейтинг кост!

All numbers called from Greater Vancouver Regional District and Victoria Capital Region will be redirected to Community Futures British Columbia.

British Columbia’s new NDP government will scrap tolls on the Port Mann and Golden Ears bridges on Sept. 1, but motorists should enjoy the free ride while it lasts.

That’s because a commission is investigating mobility pricing options for transportation, which could include bridge tolls and other road usage fees.

The NDP government is now championing the phrase “Toll Free B.C.” — and Transportation Minister Claire Trevena denied in an interview Friday that this slogan would be temporary given the work of the mobility commission. “What the mayors are looking at is mobility pricing, which is not tolling. It is looking at how people move,” she told Postmedia News.

But Gordon Price, an expert on all things urban, said the reality is that motorists will, of course, be paying for road infrastructure again under any mobility pricing system. A new system would likely look very different, though, and could be more equitable than merely taxing bridge users south of the Fraser Valley.

There are also other inequities in the local transportation system, Price noted, such as paying for ferries and transit. “Is a Compass Card really different from a TReO card?” asked Price, a former Vancouver city councillor and former director of the Simon Fraser University City Program.

The key will be to find a solution that doesn’t politically alienate drivers (a.k.a. voters), who have come to expect that roads are an essential service funded by governments. “We have been raised on the free road. It is called a ‘freeway’ for a reason,” Price quipped.

Так и здесь: "бесплатные дороги" означает, что их строят и поддерживают из налогов, которые платят ВСЕ налогоплательщики.

Не собирают ведь "школьный" налог (только) с тех, у кого есть дети, или "военный" налог (только) с тех, кто заявил, что ему нужна армия.

И только бедного Стасика обирают везде: и на постройку мостов по которым он не ездит, и на автобусы и скайтрейн на бензоколонке, и даже на школы!!!
Соу, я за то, чтобы каждый платил за то, чем он пользуется: если мост платный: проехал - заплати, в автобус сел - заплати за все сам, пошел в школу - заплати за школу (ведь за дет.сад каждый платит сам!).
За армию (и проч. общегосударственные инстансы), так и быть - пусть со всех собирают
