Работу бросили - шорм надвигаюшийся обсуждают.
Что там в Ванкувере слышно? Готовы к нему?

Hello – I thought I should pass on some important information to you that I have heard regarding the incoming storm this Thursday evening…

My father, ХХХХХХ is the Director of Emergency Management of ХХХХ County.

He called to tell me that for the first time in his career the National Weather Service called all county Emergency Directors in Western Washington to warn them of the winds coming this Thursday night into Friday afternoon.

By all indications; this system seems to be one of the worst that Western Washington has seen. Much like the Inaugural day storm. It currently looks to hit the entire Puget Sound region, especially bad for the folks in the North West.

He said to be prepared for power outages for several days, and depending on how rural you live it could be worse… and have on hand batteries, battery powered radio, fire wood, matches, your car fueled up, cash out, food stocked for up to three days…be prepared for schools closures, road closures, trees and power lines down due to the heavy ground saturation.

The Friday morning commute may be extremely hazardous….

упс, едва домой доехал.
Сколько раз замечаю и удивляюся. Как дрянная погода, народ на хайвее почему-то норовит ехать быстрее, чем обычно. Хотя стоило бы делать как раз наборот. Настилают с такой скорость, просто диву даешься. И это при том, что от дожды временами вообще нихрена не видно.

Wind Warning for Greater Vancouver for Friday morning.

A strong pacific storm is moving towards the British Columbia coast today and will cross Vancouver Island tonight. Ahead of the storm this afternoon winds will increase to southeast 50 to 70 km/h in most coastal locations. Winds are expected to shift to west 60 to 90 km/h overnight through early Friday morning across all of the south coast as the low moves inland. Heavy rainfall is forecast for Howe Sound and the eastern Fraser Valley where rainfall amounts in excess of 50 mm are expected through tonight. Snow accumulation of 20 to 40 cm is forecast for Whistler through Friday afternoon.
