Amazon’s workforce in downtown Vancouver will double with the opening of a new second corporate office building in the city.

The electronic commerce and cloud computing multinational giant announced today it will occupy a new nine-storey office building at the southwest corner of Dunsmuir Street and Homer Street.

It has signed a lease to the future building – located next to Holy Rosary Cathedral and the old Canada Post office building – being developed by Oxford Properties Group and designed by B + H Architects.

дело такое, всегда есть авралы, это IT, но в целом не думаю, что они будут конфликтовать с canadian labour code... по крайне мере в текущем офисе не наблюдается

это такая игра. пока включение торонто в шорт-лист неплохо для бизнеса. но не верится что публичный имидж (хотя это и главный канадский товар в последние десятилетия, но есть предел?) стоит так дорого что амазон откажется в его пользу от налоговых ништяков

Вполне ожидаемо, что Ванкувер исключили. Кто захочет иметь 2 headquarters на одной тектонической плите.

Для компании с Market Cap 640B и Р/Е около 340 (!!!), причем работающей в отрасли экономики, где нет монополий(!!!!!), тектоническое строение регионов, где располагаются ее центральные офисы - это явно самая главная долгосрочная проблема:)
