Position: INSTRUCTIONAL DESIGNER
Status: Full-time
Location: Victoria, British Columbia

Summary:
This position is responsible for designing and developing learning programs for retail-based and corporate staff. Responsibilities include planning, designing and writing content for classroom based sessions.

Responsibilities:
• Identify and respond to changing policies, procedures, and product diversification by maintaining and updating existing training materials
• Revise current print based materials to support a blended learning approach including classroom, peer coaching and web based/eLearning delivery
• Responsible for designing and developing engaging, interactive course content
• Modify and enhance course content to ensure ongoing relevance and effectiveness
• Work internally with other members of the Training Department to review, provide feedback and make recommendations on programs and related materials
• Create programs that support optimal learning, retention and development

Requirements:
• College or University experience in Instructional or Curriculum Design, Adult Learning, or Educational Technology or a minimum of 2 years related experience, preferably in a retail environment
• Demonstrated ability to design and develop course content for adult learners
• Technically proficient in using MS Office products, including Word, Excel and PowerPoint
• Superior written and verbal communication skills
• Flexible, high degree of creativity, and aptitude for learning new technologies
• Strong interpersonal skills, customer service oriented
• Experience working with project teams and subject matter experts, and able to work independently
• Preferred but not required: Experience in web based / eLearning content development
