1.)Little Timmy sees all the cool bikes riding around town, decided "by golly i need me one of those there two wheel super deelies". So little Timmy talks to some people and they recommend he get a litre bike that way when he wont get "bored" to quickly. So little Timmy goes, puts down cold cash for a nice new GSXR 1000. It's a beautiful bike, angels sing when he sits on it, and he gets a funny feeling in his boxers that just wont go away. So little Timmy takes it out on the road, decides "well this isnt so bad, not to bad at all, but ill be carefule because i dont wanna mess up my gorgeous sex machine". So little Timmy, rides around for a few weeks taking it easy always cautious trying to stay away from large traffic, Before we know it little Timmy is pretty confident, hasn't had any problems and is getting the hang of it...Then it happens. little Timmy is riding around on his bike when a Soccer mom of doom cuts him off, Little Timmy freaks, he means to pull the break but the collision was so close he forgets what hes doing and blips the throttle, timmy is now careening down the road holding on for dear life terrified and in a state of shock to scared to even move his fingers. He hits a curb and is flung off the bike sailing through the air, luckily Timmy was smart enough to get good gear. he gets up, his arm hurting and on fire,(little timmy has a broken arm), he walks over to what was once his thing of love, and now that feeling in his boxers is shriveling like ice on a hot stove. The bike is totalled, nothing left of it but peices here and there. poor poor Timmy.... Timmy's experience is one he does not wish to do again, so timmy collects the insurance money (if he can), and buys himself a nice 4-door sedan. It's probably better this way little Timmy.

Now, lets looks at what Timmy should have done.

So little Timmy goes and talks to a dealer, and reads up on it, he takes a MSF course, talks to some of the people on the bikes, and takes all their opinions to heart. the big message that Timmy is getting is start small, smaller the better. So little Timmy does as the wise men said, he starts small, he gets a litle 250 or 500. he cruises around on it thinking to himself "this thing is a BLAST!!!"..Little timmy is getting that feeling in his boxers, but not for the same reason as before. he's getting it because he is having FUN, not because he has a really powerful machine. So Timmy rides around, he gets confident, and it happens. A soccer mom from doom cuts little Timmy off, timmy is frightned because its such a close collision, he blips the throttle, but due to the fact that the bike isnt a pure blood rocket, it only speeds up a little, timmy remembers his training from the MSF course and resumes control. he applies the breaks and is safe. Shaken up, but safe....years later, Timmy has had such a great exp with bikes he now attends track days, little Timmy is no longer little, he now rides the curves like a pro, on his 1000 GSXR. and he does so with much confidence and training. one day, little Billy approaches Timmy while he is sitting eating some food outside the biker hang out. Billy asks Timmy about the bike and so circle of the rider loops around again.

Ого!!! как раз такой же и мне предлагают! Только у меня опыта вождения байков нет... Вот сижу в раздумьях, где научиться Мне вот предложили в "Экшен" пойти, только там чтото дороговато: 700 $ за курс...

Блин столько дел, времени не хватает только... )))

Action - rules. You would not regret spending $700.
Кстати часто там скидка, так что 500 выходит. Я там учился, и всем кто хочет - рекомендую их. Там кульные молодые ребята преподают (весело в общем).

Katana 750 - немножко большеват/тяжеловат для начинающего. Если после школы - почти в самый раз. После тех что в школе - эффект всетаки очень сильный. В основном из-за веса и torque на 1й передаче.
Если смотреть на supersport bike - Ninja 500 очень неплоха для старта.

Единственное что абсалютно не рекомендую (если нет опыта на мотоцикле - мопеды и прочая чешуя не катит) садиться на байк без школы.

Противопоказан как первый байк:
1. Любой 1000cc и выше.
2. Honda CBR600 (600cc and above)
3. Yamaha YZF-R6
4. Kawasaki ZX-6R, ZX-6RR
5. Suzuki Hayabusa, GSX-R750
В общем-то практически любой из современных supersport не рекомендуется.
Исключение - Kawasaki Ninja 500, Ninja 250, Suzuki Katana (который на самом деле touring но сделан на базе GSX-R и оттюнен менее аггрессивно).

Да, кстати, у Suzuki наиболее широкий выбор байков подходящих для начинающих.
