Looking for subj.
Basically, sth with a browswer like interface and which websites would also recognize as a standard browser.
That would allow to login to the website (provided there are a valid login and password) and initiate the web site downloading.
Is there such a beast out there?

Re: Website Downloader with Logging In Feature?
I believe all major downloaders (FlashGet/ReGet/GetRight/etc) have both of these functions - authorization and pretending to be a browser of your choice. Not sure what you mean by browser-like interface thoughDemurrage писал(а):Looking for subj.

Re: Website Downloader with Logging In Feature?
I assume the question was not about download managers, but rather web site ripper tools (e.g. Teleport Pro and related). From what I recall (hadn't used any for a few years by now), Teleport Pro seemed to be able to authorize (still, it all depends on authentication method: web-forms vs regular authentication), as well as send a fake User-Agent string to disguise itself as a browser.
PS. Just checked: time flies, turns out they develop various flavors of Teleport now, including really pricy options for almost $5K

Re: Website Downloader with Logging In Feature?
What I was talking about was sth like QuadSucker and such. Basically, a program which allows to download the *entire* content of a website vs single files e.g. like GetRight and such do. Another term for such programs, offline browsers i.e. you download the site content first and then browse it offline.
Looks like I could have found some plugins for Firefox and SeaMonkey which might do the job e.g. http://plugindoc.mozdev.org/windows4.html#DownThemAll
Also, this OffLine Explorer looks promising too http://www.metaproducts.com/OE.html
Have tried neither of them yet though

Did you have a look at the link I've provided for Teleport? From what I know, it's considered to be a leader in this functionality for years.Demurrage писал(а):Basically, a program which allows to download the *entire* content of a website
