DevZeroG, United Kingdom - Ukraine http://www.devzerog.com
Software Engineer
The project
"PrintSure PDF preflight portal" http://www.devzerog.com/products/printsure was to build a job and file receipt portal with workflow management, routing, client-side PDF pre-flight checking and intelligent messaging. Organizations using the PrintSure Intelligent Workflow portal either automatically distribute the desktop client software to their remote users via the Internet or provide them with a login to the on-line, browser-based pre-flight checking applet. The desktop software takes the configuration from the PrintSure server upon launch, optionally collects job information from the user via a form, performs an optional local pre-flight check and delivers assets from the user's workstation over the internet to the PrintSure server.
In this multifaceted role, I contributed to the design and development of the core of the web application. Implemented business logic using Servlets and Struts framework, developed web pages with JSP, HTML, JavaScript and custom Struts tags. I completed detailed notification and logging subsystem. To facilitate processing in the internal clients' RDF workflow, each PrintSure printing job includes XMP metadata. I developed XMP Template Form Editor to let portal administrators configure and set XMP templates. It significantly reduced time spent on filling out forms for each printing job, while provides coherent and vital data.
With a team of developers I completed ForkedIO library development which let us effectively manage multimedia files on Mac platform. I also contributed in UI-rich java applet client development and implemented Swing client application. All these let DevZeroG successfully compete with the industry leaders of preflight solutions.
Within the bounds of the project an ad-hoc PDF parser/render library was created. I implemented ColorSpace converting subsystem and a PDF text rendering subsystem. These features allowed DevZeroG to release a new version of preflight software with advanced error visualization options. Utilizing elements of the Extreme Programming approach I collaborated with the rest of the team in extensive library development, analyzed PDF reference, researched, designed and implemented prepress preflight criteria. These efforts let DevZeroG offer customers several sets of preflight criteria to check PDF documents against industry-wide standards such as pass4press and Sicogif.

Kvazar-Micro, Ukraine http://www.kvazar-micro.com
Senior Software Engineer
I was responsible for the design and delivery of a trade validation and enrichment system. The system developed was .Net based financial client-server application for cell phone providers, integrated with external data sources and legacy databases. The system was required to support high transactional throughput, be configured to run in multiple regions, with diverse business requirements. As a team leader I analyzed requirements and coordinated development process. I also developed fundamental classes for application programmers. Designed and implemented database schemas and stored procedures (Transact-SQL, PL/SQL) for the client side using SQLServer and for the server side using Oracle. I implemented database layer for the client applications and accomplished GUI framework for the client applications using C#. Served as a mentor.
Technologies Used: .Net, C#, WebServices, Oracle, MS SQLServer

Sumix, USA-Ukraine http://www.sumix.com
Senior Software Engineer
At Sumix I was charged with developing all client-side parts for the enterprise projects
"Cable Modem Diagnostics",
"Cable Modem Upgrade" and
"Cable Plant Monitoring and Management" http://www.promptlink.com/products/cnms It is a suite of software applications that support design, deployment, firmware upgrade and on-going real-time SNMP management of DOCSIS compatible cable networks.
As a technical lead for the GUI framework, I was responsible for implementing web clients using Servlets, DHTML, XML, XSL, a telnet server application, to serve terminal clients and desktop clients using Swing. Coordinated and led UI design. I was responsible
for architecting and building WebServices interface to the cable plant management system. It enables our clients integrate the solution into already up and running enterprise-wide management systems.
Designed and implemented special plug-in framework to support legacy and state-of-the-art cable modems. I contributed to the architecture, design and implementation of the server business logic. Massive scalability and enhanced SNMP engine let our customers readily see network problems, troubleshoot customer access issues, and easily deal with difficult management efforts, such as upgrading CM firmware on a very large scale. All these technical solutions allow run a more profitable business.
In order to ease the troubleshooting process, network malfunctions could be depicted on a specially rendered street map.
Project
"Maps and Locations" was to build mapping solution like MapPoint or MapQuest. I researched and built translation module [US Street Address?latitude/longitude] using US Census TIGER geospatial data. I also accomplished map rendering using C#, implemented user interface and successfully integrated MS MapPoint WebServices into the system based on .Net platform.
For project
"DOCSIS cable modem configurator", I analyzed DOCSIS 1.0/1.1 firmware reference documentation and implemented back- and front-end parts. The application lets rapid modem firmware profiles creation for different internet packages. It increases marketing productivity of cable modem network operators.
For project
"Cable Gateway" I designed and accomplished Model-View-Controller engine for web-based application. I also was in charge of creating web base UI using JSP, Servlets and HTML. This solution helps small cable network providers effectively manage first-time users, reducing number of Tech Support calls.
