“Night in the Wild”
The Greater Vancouver Zoo invites you to meet our animals at night. We are offering four Family Night in the Wild events in our magnificent picnic area this summer. Arrive between 4:00-6:00pm to set up your tents and camping gear. You are welcome to cook some dinner on our open fire pits, bring some take-out or dine at our snack bar. Once night falls, our guides and volunteers will accompany you on a walking safari throughout the Zoo so that you and your children can observe the behaviour of our animals at night time. After the walking safari, we’ll light a fire and enjoy some hot chocolate and marshmallows while we tell stories, play games, or sing songs around the fire (guitars welcome). Once ready to go to your respective tents, you will be lulled to sleep by the sounds of the animals at night and your children’s dreams will be filled with pleasant memories to be cherished for years to come.
Awaken on Sunday morning to a nice light breakfast, with your choice of cereal, fruit, muffins, juice, and coffee for the grown-ups. Once your camping equipment is packed, you will be provided with a special visit from one of our zookeepers and their animal friend. Then it’s on to the Safari Express Miniature Train and the North American Wilds for an experience you’ll never forget. You are then free to enjoy the rest of the day at the Zoo with your family. You will then know what it’s like to spend a………………
