Job Description:
Zymeworks Inc. is a Canadian computational biotechnology company that is
developing predictive computational technology for optimizing protein
therapeutics.

Zymeworks is looking for an exceptionally talented Software Developer to
compliment our current team. We are looking for motivated individuals who are
eager to showcase their talent, demonstrating the passion and drive to grow
within this progressive and developing Company.

Currently we have an opening for a Software Developer to take part in
designing, building and expanding our suite of high performance molecular
modeling tools for structure guided protein engineering.

Required Skills
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computing Science, Computer Engineering,
Biochemistry, Bioinformatics, or a related discipline.
• Demonstrated ability to design and implement medium-to-large scale software
applications through entire life cycle from initial idea to final deployment
• Proficiency with Python, and/or solid experience with C/C++ programming
• Understanding of high-scalability software architectures
• Experience working on and developing for *nix platforms
• Proficiency in English, spoken and written

Additional Skills
• Related industry experience in designing and building medium-to-large scale
software applications
• Experience in protein biochemistry, bioinformatics or statistical mechanics
techniques for protein data analysis
• Experience with scientific and numerical libraries for Python such as NumPy
• Knowledge of multi-gigabyte data storage and access technologies
• Interest and experience in high performance computing and optimization
strategies
• Knowledge of computer architecture, especially memory sub-systems, for the
purposes of performance optimization

Duties
• The successful candidate will work under the software development team lead
in conjunction with molecular science and simulation group to develop software
frameworks, applications and scripts.
• The position involves a wide variety of tasks, including formulating initial
specification based on scientific requirements, programming, and ensuring
reliability of the final product.
• Keeping up to date with the latest developments in the fields of software
engineering, programming languages and data processing will be integral part of
the candidate’s responsibilities.
