Хостит и проводит семинар Тревор Моелаерт, лидер команды Underachievers. Также участвует гуру спасателей Фил Витфилд и разные другие интересные люди.
Начало в 10:30. До полудня вязка узлов, затем до пяти - висение на веревках. Потом для желающих - пиво и общение, можно с ночевкой.
Осталось два свободных места, кому интересно - стучите в личку, сосватаю. Да, чуть не забыл - бесплатно. Только ланч и пиво надо брать с собой.

Greetings Cavers!
It's that time of the year to dig out the cave gear, wash it up, sew it back together and test out the shiny baubles you got for Christmas! Yes, it's VICEG's first, official group event of the year and it will be held on Saturday February 19th, 2011. The event will be the 2nd bout of "Rigger Mortis in the Barn". Nancy and I will be hosting an introduction and practise of basic rigging and S.R.T. (single rope technique) skills ...
For the safety and enjoyment of the participants there will be a limit of 12, on a first to register basis. Though any member is welcome, priority will be given to those with the least experience (if we get more than 12 people interested). We will have on hand a few of us BC Cave Rescue (BCCR) types to assist people and monitor everyone's safety. As well we will have some BCCR gear on site, including complete personal kits for those who don't have their own gear yet. For those with more experience we can make the rigging stations much more difficult or should I say challenging... with little effort.
So come hang with us and you will learn: what "knot" to do! As well as basic rigging, ascending / descending a rope, knot passing, rebelays, redirects, traverses and for the brave and bruised negotiating the "lip of death" and the "vertical squeeze of horrors". Lots of good stuff. We may even set up a pulley system or two!
"Rigging the Barn" will take place from 10:30 am to 12:00 noon. The S.R.T. fun starts a noon and goes until around 5ish. Dress warm, please bring a bagged lunch, water and a lawn chair. For those who want to stay after the rope work, we will be ordering pizza, watching some slides and telling tales of our caving exploits (some even true!). Floor space will be available to those who wish to stay the night.
