Senior Network Engineer (1 Year Term)

What's the job?
We were going to call this job “Solver of network problems affecting critical business services”, but then we’d have to start making larger business cards.
As a Senior Network Engineer you will be responsible for a large part of our 2011 network reinvestment program.
You’ll be responsible for:
• Contributing to the overall solution design.
• Planning and executing the detailed delivery projects to: upgrade our data centre network fabric, replace our site LAN switching equipment and expand our network reach to additional locations.
• Addressing any escalated network service issues through the transition process.
Who are we looking for?
You’ll need to be an experience network engineer who has planned, delivered and supported enterprise networks.
You’ll also need:

Minimum 7 – 10 Years of Job-Related Experience including:
• 7 years of experience with a wide range of enterprise routers & switches
• 7 years of proven network troubleshooting skills at engineering level
• 5 years in design/engineering of 25+ site networks
• 5 years of Data Center planning, wiring & maintenance experience
• 3 years in defining and implementing Enterprise-wide network standards


System Engineer - Server Mid Range (1 Year Term)

As the successful candidate you will work with a “crack” team whose primary focus is to translate strategic technology initiatives into functional IT solutions. You will leverage your strong knowledge of UNIX, IP networks, enterprise level hardware, and familiarity with Microsoft server solutions/architectures as part of this team. You will also actively participate in strategic planning sessions such as disaster recovery and business continuity.

Your team is also responsible for timely support, analysis, optimization and resolution of all software and hardware related issues as well as on-call critical support to a point of highest escalation.

Who are we looking for?

In addition to a minimum of 4 - 6 years of related work experience in an enterprise organization, you have a strong working knowledge of UNIX, web application servers, IP networking, firewalls and load balancers. You have a 2 year Diploma Program or equivalent experience. Specific knowledge of JBoss, HP-UX, and the OpenVMS operating system would give you an edge over the competition.

You also have excellent problem solving skills, verbal communication skills and are a true team-player. As well, you have good technical documentation skills and understand that a utopian vision of an IT world must always be balanced by the needs of the business.

Computer Operator (1 Year Term)

What's the job?

We have great plans for growth and are looking for an exceptional person to join our team based in Surrey.

As a Computer Operator working at “mission control”, you are the eyes and ears of the technology team to make sure our banking, investment and insurance systems run smoothly 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. In your rotating 12 hour shifts (days and nights) you’ll be kept busy with a high volume of events, some routine and some not. What’s unique about our role is the chance to work on complex and diverse tasks as well as lend a helping hand on some neat projects. Plus there is a great perk: your shift includes four and a half days off!

Who are we looking for?

We’re looking for someone who has a great service-oriented attitude, knows Computer 101 and can follow direction and process well. In addition, when required, you have good problem solving/troubleshooting skills. You are a team-player (no job is too small or too big!), are detailed oriented, able to multi-task and work independently. Besides all that, you have your high school diploma and a willingness to learn. You have enough of a foundation in software, hardware, networking and database technologies to know which 20 questions to figure out before calling that engineer at 4:00am with a crisis!
