Goodwill Compensation

"My car was off warranty and I searched the net to find out if others were experiencing the same problems. In a post, someone mentioned they phoned Honda and asked for 'goodwill compensation'. So I did... I phoned Honda Canada, explained what parts were needed and my loyalty with Honda. The response was 'I'm sorry I can't help you as your vehicle is out of the warranty period'. Then I asked if 'goodwill compensation' was available. I was met with a 'sure I can check that out for you - leave it with me. The same agent phoned me later in the day and they covered $1300.00 retail in parts. I paid for one lesser expensive part and then the labour. It never hurts to ask."
