What’s the job?

We’re all about helping customers with useful things like cheques and balances. But did you know we’re also keen about checks and balances? We need someone to help us make sure we’re doing what we said we were going to do when it comes to our application development and infrastructure system implementations. That’s why we’re looking for a Quality Assurance (QA) Analyst.

Your responsibilities will include ensuring that applications and systems have been developed and deployed in accordance with corporate policies and procedures.. You’ll also play an important role in mitigating the risk of applying new business and technology solutions by following a disciplined and best practice approach to quality assurance.

So, what does the day to day look like?

•Lead all quality assurance exercises to manage the risk of implementing changes to existing IT applications and systems in order to ensure that these changes do not jeopardize the integrity of existing IT production systems
•Collaborate with business, software and systems team to develop comprehensive Quality Assurance Plans
•Write and execute test cases; uncover and log defects. Work collaboratively with business units to ensure effective and appropriate test coverage
•Communicate test progress, test results, and other relevant information to project stakeholders and management
•Compile production change documentation and coordinate its approval
•Coordinate and schedule competing requests for QA activities taking into account priority, testing activities required and available hardware, databases, and human resources
•Cultivate and disseminate knowledge of quality assurance methodology best practices
•Work as a coach and mentor to develop the technical skills and competence of the business users assigned to perform application testing.
•Provide timely third-level support in the analysis and resolution of production problems
Who are we looking for?

•Degree in computer science combined with a minimum of 3 years of quality assurance experience with real time software preferred
•Familiarity with the financial services industry and automated testing is highly desirable
•Extensive knowledge of Quality Assurance methodologies; QA planning, approaches to testing, defect identification and resolution
•Outstanding communication, analytical and problem solving skills
•Experience with testing tools (e.g. Rational Robot), Moderate-Advanced Excel, XML Spy and data comparison tools.
