smaller class sizes
- Каким образом это выполнимо? Где я могу прочитать программу и конкретику? Боюсь что нигде ибо как я говорил выше это спекуляция.
With benefits, the province says the teachers are asking for a 21 per cent raise over the next four years, something that would cost about $2 billion.
- Нет, меня это не радует. С чего это требовать 21% за 4 года прибавки когда все другие получают 1-3% в год. Где взять эти 2милярда баксов
The province is offering a 7.25 per cent pay hike over six years and an extra $1,200 bonus per teacher if an agreement is signed by the end of June. The offer comes without any compromise on class size or special needs considerations.
-. Договорились бы на 12%

КОменты:
Unionism has become the great equalizer that penalizes good performers, and benefits and protects lackeys. It puts employees up against employers in creating an unhealthy and inefficient workplace. And it all costs us taxpayers much more than it should
The CFL players spent 12 hr in negotiations yesterday.
How much time did the BCPSEA and the BCTF spend?
To call this a negotiation is a joke.
They spend more time in front of the press than in the room.
Start at 8 am and work all day if you want to get this done.
Fire them all, If The BCTF,is unwilling to negotiate
There are far more teachers unemployed than employed in Canada, and given this fact
presidents need to be set so there isn't another thirty years of unrest.
The way I see it, there is enough blame to go around, however the BCTF, is not government.
If these teachers don't like it move on to the province of your choice and join the other 85000 teachers in Canada who are unemployed !
It is not a right to be employed,it is a privilege !
My son's teacher works 189 days per year.
Education can't be that important if a person can become premier of BC with a grade 12 education. Dropping out of one university and being kicked out of another for cheating doesn't count as higher education.

During contract negotiations, teachers are constantly telling us how many hours they work, weekends, etc., as a way to justify only working 9 months a year for full pay. I propose we change their pay structure so they are paid hourly (for each hour worked). Have every teacher enter their hours worked into a timekeeping system. and make them account for their time worked weekends, etc., by providing an explanation why it was necessary to work "X" hours over a weekend, evenings. This is how the real world outside the protective bubble of the education system works.
