"Industry Standards" in Residantial Construction...

Say, in your newly built property, there is something you deem as a deficiency (e.g. wooden boards on the deck and the balcony left unpainted etc) or something that, after your complain, has been kind of fixed (by either developer or the home insurance privider), but you still think the fix is inadequate (e.g. the hardwood floor has been replaced, but the subfloor has not been leveled properly etc).

You appeal your case to your home insurance provider, but they reject it by claiming that everything is done "according to the industry standards".

I was wondering if it is possible to verify those claims i.e. are those "industry standards" set/written somewhere?

Есть строительный кодекс (BC Building Code)которому должно соответсвовать все что строится, но там нет почти ничего про отделку, кривизну и прочие "браки". Поэтому если вы например купили дом с скрепящими полами, или с некрашеннымими стенами, то любой деволепер просто скажет "а куда вы раньше смотрели ?" И в общем будет прав.
Другое дело если что то течет или отваливается, то это должны пофиксить однозначно.
