Job Description:
These positions will be focused on creating and modifying software code for PC and console video games and custom backend client-server solutions. The code you write will be the backbone for the most popular online multiplayer game experiences and will run video games being released on current and next generation consoles, handheld gaming devices and PC.
Key Responsibilities:
· Create and own leading edge reusable server solutions
· Create and own cross platform SDKs supporting all gaming console and PC platforms
· Research cutting edge algorithms and techniques
· Define technical requirements and write technical design specifications
· Design, maintain, implement, test and debug code
· Provide integration support to game studio development teams using your online software
· Work flexible hours to accommodate interaction with globally distributed game development teams
Software Engineers - Online Gaming Qualifications/Experience Required:
· Gaming industry experience.
· Experienced programming in C++.
· Experienced programming web development and Java languages.
· Experience developing game server code and database schema.
· Ability to quickly prototype and iterate towards production-level quality.
· Strong analytical, problem solving, organizational, and multi-tasking skills.
· Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
· Understanding of internet standards such as -DNS, FTP, SSH, HTML, XML, JDBC, SNMP and other protocols.
· Network design, installation, and support
· Ability to work in a team environment and with other service groups and independently.
Duration is expected to be 3-4 months with potential extension.
Location is Burnaby, BC
Pay Rate will vary based on experience.
