A lecture, including videos and photographs of this remarkable place and its magnificent inhabitants by Russian biologist and accomplished photographer
Vasiliy Baranyuk
• Vasiliy Baranyuk has studied the island’s wildlife for the past 29 summers
• Wrangel Island is 2900 square miles of the remotest Arctic wilderness with the highest density of polar bears and twice as many plants as any other areas of arctic tundra.
• Wrangel Island’s snow geese nest in an interior mountain valley and—like the Antarctic penguin—the pre-flight goslings walk 120 miles from their nests to the sea.

We are very pleased, that through a grant from the Pacific Coast Joint Venture, he is able to share his love of the land and wildlife, and especially the snow geese of Wrangel Island.

The public is welcomed and encouraged to attend this very special event.
