Our Client is a large multinational company with excellent individual career growth potential. They are currently looking to grow their BC team by up to 40 members.They are currently seeking a Web Development Team Lead. Ideally the right candidate will either be an Intermediate level Development Team Lead with recent hands on technical experience OR a strong Senior Developer with past experience with mentoring Junior Developers.

Location: Victoria preferred (or Vancouver with travel to Victoria as needed)
Placement: Permanent
Salary Target: Up to 85k per annum with excellent benefits
Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

Providing expert guidance in all areas including operating system, middleware and database technologies, and to become familiar with the particular application components in play;
Providing strong technical guidance and leadership, both from a theoretical and hands-on perspective to members of the Web Services team to ensure success of a wide range of websites;
Being thoroughly versed in ITIL and production support best practices, particularly as they relate to incident, problem, and change management;
Being thoroughly versed in SDLC concepts and practices, particularly as it relates to promotion and deployment of routine fixes and major releases into a production environment;
Providing technical and logistical leadership during all phases of change planning and change management;
Drawing on extensive technical experience to understand change implications from a broad technical perspective, adding a ?big picture? view to the discussions;
Being an agent for change in the environment;
Proactively identifying opportunities to improve the environment from both a technical and process perspective;
Working with the technical teams to finalize the recommendations and take this to management and other stake holders for approval; and,
Working with the Tier II and Tier III technical teams, plan, implement, and participate in the support of the solutions.
Skills and Qualifications

The qualified candidate must have:

Post-secondary Degree/Diploma in Computer Science or Science and Technology field;
At least five (5)+ years hands-on experience in a Web Technical Team Lead role in mission critical 7x24 production environments;
Strong verbal and written communication skills;
Strong organization and leadership skills with the ability to facilitate technical sessions and perform mentoring for less senior team members;
Capability of communicating complex technical information to a non-technical audience and of communicating structured production process requirements to a technical audience;
Demonstrated client facing skills;
Demonstrated ability to rapidly develop expertise in new/different technologies, through hands-on, real-time, on the fly exposure and involvement;
Experience in the following technologies: ASP.NET, .NET framework 4.0, ASP.NET MVC architecture, HTML, XML, Javascript, PHP, Cascading Style Sheets, server Side Includes, ActiveX or other web based interpreted languages, UML, Use-cases and Wireframes;
Experience developing mobile friendly websites and responsive design;
Knowledge of current and emerging User Interface design standards;
Knowledge of object oriented programming techniques and paradigms;
Familiarity with server side scripting;
Familiarity with UNIX (Solaris) operating systems; and,
Solid grasp of ITIL (certification encouraged) and SDLC.
