Join our mid-range team supporting our banking infrastructure services through programming activities and operating systems utilities, including physical systems, interfaces, communications, security and applications. You participate in the analysis and resolution of software and hardware related problems including systems design and configuration, performance analysis and systems optimization, security and recovery procedures, and management of systems/hardware interfaces

What you'll get to do:
Pro-actively manage the banking related services to ensure that our documented member service levels are met.
Use your expert knowledge to continually develop our mid-range systems technologies and increase automation through scripting and tools.
Test, evaluate and recommend server computer hardware and software needs for the enterprise and when required, facilitate the purchase of equipment.
Develop guidelines for standard server-based computer configurations for the organization.
Recommend, install, maintain and troubleshoot network and desktop applications (including Internet/Intranet) and operating systems including: servers, network storage, firewalls, load balancers, network devices and other related devices.
Provide expert technical and administrative support of banking operations and its collateral environments.
Maintain system integrity by ensuring regular operating system and disk maintenance and monitoring is performed.
Perform the installation and upgrades of all server-based operating system, application software, firmware and utilities.
Design, develop, implement and test system disaster recovery procedures related to the mid-range systems environment.
Like a superhero you provide on-call critical support (7x24x365) on a rotating schedule, flying to the emergency situation to resolve the issue.
Who are we looking for?
You have a diploma (minimum 2 years) that included system engineering and general business studies combined with at least 4 - 6 years' experience supporting infrastructure technology including configuration management/automation orchestration processes, monitoring and tools. It would be an asset if your experience included design, research and deployment technologies.
You have an expert knowledge of Unix/Linux systems with a minimum of 2 - 3 years administrative experience.
You take pride in your expert scripting and programming skills with BASH, Python and C and your strong hardware skills including Blade technologies, firewalls and network devices.
You have a strong knowledge of TCP/IP networks and troubleshooting and skills with storage technologies.
You are knowledgeable of technologies, Microsoft OS, virtualization and security.
You are known for your strong communication skills and your above average documentation skills.
Please note: this position requires a valid BC driver's license and vehicle as it requires periodic travel between our mainland and Vancouver Island locations.
