Job Description
The person selected to fill this position will work as a senior member of a team responsible for designing, coding, and maintaining several Internet service providing applications.

IP Applications is a publicly traded company and serves customers including: Telus, Sprint USA, AOL Canada, Roomlinx Wireless High-speed Internet and Quixtar.

* ISPs include Telcos (CLECs, ILECs), Cable Operators, Affinity Groups and Power Utilities

Compensation
Based on experience.

Responsibilities
• Act as a senior member of the development team, encouraging growth of the individuals and the team as a whole.
• Develop and maintain applications that support the company’s business requirements.
• Advise on departmental policies and procedures ensuring they are efficient, effective and adhered to.
• Continue to enhance the technical architecture of the applications while providing a technical resource to other members of the team.
• Participate in all stages of product life cycle, from requirements analysis to maintenance.
• Participate in team discussion of possible technical solutions.
• Work as a productive member of the team in a fast paced dynamic environment.
• Ensure development work meets functional, operational and developmental requirements.
• Perform code reviews with team members
• Assist in creating testing methodologies

Requirements
• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or a related discipline or equivalent experience.
• Minimum of 5 years industry relevant experience.
• Excellent oral and written communications and interpersonal skills.
• Minimum of 5 years experience with C and C++
• Minimum 2 years with Java
• Experience in Object Oriented Development
• Unix systems development experience.
• Proficient with MySQL and SQL Language
• Experience with MS SQL, Oracle, PHP, Coldfusion an asset
• Familiar with Internet protocols (HTTP, SMTP, RADIUS).
• JSP, J2EE and Application Server an asset.
• Experience with billing systems, subscriber management and payment processing an asset.
• Documentation and technical writing an asset
