Primary role:

* Design and implement new test procedures to ensure adequate test coverage of the software.

* Apply, maintain and create test cases and test plans.

* Verify test results using SQL

* Work with the development staff to resolve software testing issues

* Assists project team with the development and maintenance of test procedures, reusable test databases, and test scripts.

* Assists in the review and creation of functional designs and help documentation.

* Verifies and logs customer reported application problems, as well as all bugs found during testing.

* Fields queries and problems from Customer Support and initiates actions as necessary.

* Assists in the coordination of the release of all patches and service packs supplied to the customer through the support department.

* Advanced knowledge of software structure and software development technologies.

* Participate in system design reviews for the determination of testing requirements

* Assist in the review and creation of functional designs and help in the improvement of documentation

* Consult with product managers and developers to determine software requirements.

* Help to ensure all software is developed in accordance with established development procedures and standards.

* Help to establish improved procedures in the area of software design and implementation.

* Make recommendations and help implement practical and effective strategies for quality on applications.

Experience with applications using the following technologies would be an asset:

* WinRunner (or other automated testing tools), Java, XML, JSP, servlets, MS SQL Server, various Windows platforms as well as Linux or Unix environments.
