А мои украинские прадед с прабабушкой попали в английскую зону оккупации после концлагерей. Их еще два года после войны содержали в лагерях Германии для перемещенных лиц. Прежде чем разрешили уехать в Англию.
Вот один из последних молодых их соседей по лагерям, а затем исходу в Англию и Канаду. Весь холм над Чилливаком, останками людей с такими судьбами усыпан:

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Peter Horin on Thursday, May 20th 2010. Peter was a loving father, grandfather, and friend. Peter was born in Ukraine on August 13th, 1922 and passed away in Chilliwack, BC on May 20th, 2010 at the age of 87. Peter was predeceased by his wife Maria in 1993. Peter is survived by two sons, Steve (Debbie), and Jerry (Theresa), four grandchildren Mark, Michelle, Matt, and Jerrod.
The family would like to thank all friends for their support. Also a special thanks to the Doctors, Nurses, and staff on Sub-acute, ICU and NU3 for their wonderful care.
Peter was born in 1922 in the village Narayiv, near Berezhany, Ukraine. In the early 1940's he spent seven years labouring as a displaced person in Germany. In 1948, he immigrated to England, where he worked in the coal mining industry. It was in Stafford, England where he met and married Maria Kozak. In 1951 their first son Stefan (Steve) was born and in 1954 they then immigrated to Melford, Saskatchewan where they farm laboured for a year. In 1955 they moved to BC and settled in Agassiz where Peter began his life long career in logging. In 1956 their second son Jerry was born. In 1968 they moved to Chilliwack where the family continues to reside. Throughout his life Peter was a dedicated member of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church of Canada, and was honored with the Metropolitian's Hramota in 2007 for his sincere love for the church and his numerous years of service.
Peter was a tender, loving man who will be sadly and greatly missed by all those who came to know him and mostly by his family.
A Funeral Service will be held a Henderson's Funeral Home on Friday, May 28th at 11:30 a.m. with a viewing on the preceding evening from 7:00 – 9:00 PM. A luncheon to follow the service at St. Demetrius Church in Chilliwack.
